Dow Jones Newswires: WWE sales top $300 million, earnings top expectations

World Wrestling Entertainment Inc. reported a 30% jump in revenue in the latest quarter as the media and entertainment company’s live events resumed.

WWE WWE, -3.26%, as the company focused on wrestling is called, said revenue in the fourth quarter totaled $310.3 million, up from $238.2 million.

Analysts polled by FactSet expected revenue of $325 million.

The company’s adjusted operating income before depreciation and amortization, one of its key metrics, was $97.2 million, up 90%. The company had guided for an Adjusted OIBDA of $75 million to $85 million during its third-quarter earnings release.

Net income for the fourth quarter was $63.9 million in the quarter, up from $13.6 million a year earlier.

Earnings per share were 76 cents, up from 16 cents a year earlier. Analysts polled by FactSet were expecting earnings of 54 cents a share.
