The Wall Street Journal: Boeing strikes deal with Qatar Airways for purchase of 777X freighter jets

Qatar Airways said it agreed to purchase as many as 50 of Boeing Co. BA, +4.61%’s new 777X freighter jet, launching the plane during a boom in air cargo.

The announcement was made at a White House event Monday with Stan Deal, the head of Boeing’s commercial unit, Qatar Airways Chief Executive Officer Akbar Al Baker and U.S. Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo.
